How this works

Everything on this page comes live from the National Environment Agency's Meteorological Service Singapore (NEA) through data.gov.sg, refreshed every 5 minutes. Each forecast shows when NEA issued it and the period it covers.

The 2-hour forecast (nowcast) covers 47 areas, from Ang Mo Kio to Yishun, and is updated through the day. Search for a town, a place or a postal code: if it isn't one of NEA's area names, we look it up on OneMap and use the nearest forecast area. "Rain expected" means NEA's nowcast for that area mentions rain, showers or thundery showers.

Air temperature (1-minute readings) and rainfall (5-minute totals) come from NEA's weather stations; the page uses the station nearest to the area's label point and shows its distance. The 24-hour forecast gives conditions for the north, south, east, west and central regions over three periods, and the 4-day outlook gives islandwide conditions, temperature and wind.

For the rain radar and weather warnings, see NEA's weather.gov.sg and the myENV app.

FAQs

Will it rain in Tampines today?

Search for Tampines above: the card shows NEA's 2-hour forecast for Tampines (for example, "No rain expected from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm"), the 5-minute rainfall at the nearest station, and the 24-hour forecast for the east region.

How accurate is the 2-hour weather forecast?

The 2-hour nowcast is NEA's shortest-range forecast for each of 47 areas, so it is the one to check before heading out. Showers in Singapore can be very local, which is why this page also shows the latest rainfall reading at the nearest station.

Where can I see the rain radar?

NEA publishes the rain radar on weather.gov.sg and in the myENV app. This page shows NEA's forecasts and station readings, which data.gov.sg makes available as open data.

How often is the Singapore weather forecast updated?

The 2-hour nowcast is reissued through the day, temperature stations report every minute and rain gauges every 5 minutes. This page checks for new data every 5 minutes and shows the issue time of each forecast.
