TOTO is a game of chance and every draw is independent: no system or number pattern changes the odds of a given set. Only 54% of sales (net of GST) goes into the prize pool. How this works

TOTO draws 6 numbers from 1 to 49, then an Additional Number from the remaining 43. A set of six numbers wins if it contains at least 3 winning numbers, and each set only wins its highest prize group. These rules are from the TOTO Game Rules approved by the Gambling Regulatory Authority, in force from 2 March 2026.

Odds are exact combinatorics: there are 13,983,816 possible sets of six (49 choose 6). A System N bet covers every set of six inside your N numbers (System 7 is 7 sets for S$7, System 12 is 924 sets for S$924), and a System Roll covers your 5 numbers with each of the other 44 as the sixth, for S$44. The calculator counts how many of your sets land in each group for every possible result.

Groups 1 to 4 are shares of the prize pool, which is 54% of the draw's sales net of GST: Group 1 gets 38% (guaranteed at least S$1,000,000), Group 2 gets 8%, Group 3 gets 5.5% and Group 4 gets 3%, split equally among winning shares. Groups 5, 6 and 7 pay a fixed S$50, S$25 and S$10 per winning set.

Every draw is independent and no choice of numbers changes the odds. If gambling is a problem for you or someone you know, the National Problem Gambling Helpline is 1800-6-668-668.

FAQs

What are the odds of winning the TOTO jackpot?

1 in 13,983,816 for one S$1 Ordinary bet, because there are 13,983,816 ways to choose 6 numbers from 49. A System 7 bet (S$7) is 1 in 1,997,688 and a System 12 bet (S$924) is 1 in 15,134. The odds of winning any prize with an Ordinary bet are about 1 in 54.

How much does a System 7 win if I match 4 numbers?

S$190: three sets win Group 5 (S$50 each) and four sets win Group 7 (S$10 each). If one of your other three numbers is the Additional Number, it is 2 Group 4 shares, 1 Group 5 (S$50) and 4 Group 6 (S$25 each), so S$150 plus the two Group 4 shares.

How much is TOTO Group 7, 6 and 5?

Group 7 (3 numbers) pays S$10, Group 6 (3 numbers + Additional) pays S$25 and Group 5 (4 numbers) pays S$50 per winning set. Groups 1 to 4 are not fixed: they are 38%, 8%, 5.5% and 3% of the prize pool, shared among winners.

How much does a TOTO System 12 cost?

S$924, because 12 numbers make 924 different sets of six and each set is a S$1 bet. System 8 is S$28, System 9 is S$84, System 10 is S$210 and System 11 is S$462.

What happens if nobody wins the TOTO jackpot?

The Group 1 prize snowballs to the next draw. If it stays unwon for 4 consecutive draws, it cascades: it is shared among the Group 2 winners of that fourth draw, or Group 3 if there are none, and so on down to Group 7.
