13 of these 2026 dates fall in the 7th lunar month (Hungry Ghost Month), which many Singapore families avoid for weddings and moving house even when the almanac lists the day as suitable.

Dates come from the traditional Chinese almanac (Tong Shu, 通书) rules, as computed by the open-source lunar-javascript library. Almanac publishers and temple masters follow different traditions, so a printed almanac or a geomancer may list different days. Many couples also check their own BaZi with a practitioner. How this works

Each day in the Chinese almanac (通书 Tong Shu, also called 黄历 or 通胜) lists activities that are suitable (宜) and to avoid (忌). These lists follow traditional rules based on the day's stem and branch, the solar month and the 12 day officers (建除十二值星). This calendar uses the lists computed by the open-source lunar-javascript library for every day of 2026 and 2027, with plain English translations of each activity.

The calendar marks a day as suitable when the activity is in the day's 宜 list. Each day also clashes (冲) with one zodiac animal, the branch opposite the day's branch: a 丁巳 day clashes with the Pig, and most of all with people born in a 辛亥 year such as 1971. Use the clash filter to skip days that clash with the couple's or the household head's animal. The sha (煞) direction is the direction traditionally avoided that day.

Almanac traditions vary between publishers and masters, and many families also weigh the couple's BaZi, the Hungry Ghost Month (13 August to 10 September 2026; 2 to 31 August 2027) and the venue's availability. Printed almanacs and geomancers often recommend fewer days than the general 宜 list. Treat this as cultural tradition, not advice.

FAQs

What are the auspicious wedding dates in 2026?

The almanac lists 125 days in 2026 as suitable for weddings (嫁娶), 29 of them on a Saturday or Sunday. The remaining weekend dates in 2026 are 10, 11 and 25 October, 1 November and 22 November; December 2026 has wedding days only on weekdays (4, 17, 21 and 24 December).

How many good wedding days are there in 2027?

130 days in 2027 list weddings (嫁娶) as suitable, 41 of them on weekends, including Saturday 2 January, Sunday 17 January and Saturday 6 February 2027. Twelve fall in the Hungry Ghost Month (2 to 31 August 2027), which many families avoid.

What is the difference between 入宅 and 移徙 for moving house?

入宅 is moving into a new home for the first time, and 移徙 is relocating from one home to another. In 2026 the almanac lists 95 days as suitable for 入宅 and 106 for 移徙; pick the one that matches your move and check that the day doesn't clash with the household head's animal.

What does 冲 (clash) mean in the Chinese almanac?

Each day clashes with the zodiac animal whose branch is opposite the day's branch, six places away in the cycle. On a Snake (巳) day the clash is with the Pig, so people born in Pig years traditionally avoid big events that day.

Why do different almanacs give different auspicious dates?

Publishers and masters weigh different rules on top of the basic 宜 and 忌 lists, such as the yellow and black path days, the couple's birth charts and local customs. This calendar shows the general almanac lists, so a master may narrow them further.
