Ages are counted in Singapore time (SGT, UTC+8). Milestones show the rule in force today; retirement and re-employment ages are set to rise again, to 65 and 70 by 2030, once legislated.
How this works
Your age is counted in whole calendar years from your date of birth, then whole months, then the days left over, using today's date in Singapore time (SGT, UTC+8). If you were born on 29 February, the calculator treats 28 February as your birthday in years without one.
The Singapore milestones use the rules in force in October 2026. Children start Primary 1 in the January of the year they turn 7 (MOE's cohort runs from 2 January to 1 January), and sit the PSLE in Primary 6, five years later. Male citizens and PRs register for National Service at 16½ and enlist from 18. Citizens can vote from 21.
CPF members can withdraw some savings from 55 and start CPF LIFE payouts from 65 (or defer up to 70). From 1 July 2026 the minimum retirement age is 64 and the re-employment age is 69 for workers who turn 63 or 68 on or after that date; earlier cohorts had 63 and 68 (from 1 July 2022) or 62 and 67. The government plans to raise them to 65 and 70 by 2030.
