How this works
Full-time National Service lasts 2 years. Counting your enlistment day as day 1, the estimated ORD is the day before the second anniversary of your enlistment: enlist on 5 August 2025 and you ORD on 4 August 2027, after 730 days.
Combat-fit pre-enlistees (PES A or B1) who score 61 points or more in the pre-enlistee IPPT, with at least 1 point per station, skip the 8-week Physical Training Phase. They enlist 8 weeks later, straight into basic training, so their service from enlistment is 2 years minus 8 weeks (674 days).
The countdown and percentage use today's date in your browser. Extensions, detention, medical reviews and deferments can move the date, so treat this as an estimate and check OneNS for your official ORD.
FAQs
How long is NS in Singapore?
Full-time National Service is 2 years. Pre-enlistees who are PES A or B1 and score 61 or more in the pre-enlistee IPPT get an 8-week reduction by skipping the Physical Training Phase.
If I enlist on 5 August 2025, when is my ORD?
Around 4 August 2027, the day before the second anniversary of enlistment, after 730 days of service. If you skipped PTP and enlisted on 30 September 2025 instead, the estimate is also 4 August 2027.
Can passing IPPT shorten my NS?
Only the pre-enlistee IPPT counts: a score of 61 or more at least 14 calendar days before your PTP enlistment lets you skip the 8-week PTP and enlist 8 weeks later. Passing IPPT during NS does not shorten full-time service.
Where can I find my official ORD?
In the OneNS app or from your unit. This calculator gives an estimate from the 2-year rule; your official date includes any extensions or disruptions recorded on your service.
