How much is the maid levy in Singapore?

The monthly levy is S$300 for the first helper. Eligible households, for example with a young child, an elderly member or a person with disabilities, pay the concessionary S$60. A second helper without concession costs S$450 a month (MOM, October 2026).

What does it really cost to hire a helper each month?

Beyond salary (typically S$450–S$700 for a new helper), budget for the levy, insurance, food, upkeep and the agency fee spread over the contract. For most families the true monthly cost is S$1,000–S$1,500.
