How this works
The SG Child Support Package, announced at the National Day Rally 2026, replaces the Baby Bonus and Large Families schemes from 1 April 2027. A Singapore Citizen child born on or after that date gets the same support whatever the birth order: a S$10,000 Baby Gift in two tranches within 12 months of birth, S$2,000 Child Credits every year from the year the child turns 1 to the year they turn 16 (S$32,000), a S$5,000 CDA First Step Grant, up to S$5,000 of dollar-for-dollar CDA co-matching, and a S$10,000 top-up to the Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) in the year the child turns 17. The existing S$5,000 MediSave Grant for Newborns comes on top.
Children born from 14 February 2023 to 31 March 2027 keep receiving Baby Bonus Cash Gift payouts (S$11,000 for a first or second child, S$13,000 for a third or later, paid every six months) until 31 March 2027. If the total received by then is under S$10,000, it is topped up to S$10,000 by 30 April 2027. This calculator counts the tranches due by 31 March 2027 on the standard schedule: S$3,000 at birth, S$1,500 at 6 and 12 months, S$1,000 at 18 months and S$400 every six months from age 2 (S$4,000, S$2,000, S$2,000 and S$1,000 for third and later children). They also get Child Credits for every year they turn 1 to 16 from 2026, and the PSEA top-up.
CDA co-matching caps for children born before April 2027 stay at S$4,000 (first child), S$7,000 (second), S$9,000 (third and fourth) and S$15,000 (fifth and later) for savings made until 30 September 2027; all caps become S$5,000 from 1 October 2027. Third and later children born from 18 February 2025 also received the Large Families Scheme: a S$10,000 First Step Grant, a S$5,000 Large Family MediSave Grant and S$1,000 LifeSG credits a year, which stop after 2026.
FAQs
How much does the government give for a baby born in 2027?
Up to S$67,000 for a Singapore Citizen child born on or after 1 April 2027: S$10,000 Baby Gift, S$32,000 in Child Credits, S$5,000 CDA First Step Grant, up to S$5,000 CDA co-matching, S$5,000 MediSave Grant and a S$10,000 PSEA top-up at 17. The amount is the same for every child, whatever the birth order.
What happens to the Baby Bonus for my child born in 2025?
Cash Gift payouts continue until 31 March 2027, then a top-up brings the total to S$10,000 by 30 April 2027. A first child born in June 2025 receives S$7,000 by then plus a S$3,000 top-up, then S$2,000 Child Credits every year from 2026 to 2041, a total of up to S$67,000 with the CDA, MediSave and PSEA.
How much are Child Credits?
S$2,000 a year for each Singapore Citizen child, from the year they turn 1 to the year they turn 16, up to S$32,000. Children who turn 1 to 16 in 2026 get their first credit by 30 April 2027; after that it is paid on the child's birthday.
What is the CDA co-matching cap?
S$5,000 for children born on or after 1 April 2027, matched dollar for dollar. For children born earlier, the old caps (S$4,000 to S$15,000 by birth order) apply to savings until 30 September 2027, and every cap becomes S$5,000 from 1 October 2027.
Do third children still get more?
Only if born before 1 April 2027. A third child born from 18 February 2025 gets a S$10,000 First Step Grant and a S$5,000 Large Family MediSave Grant. For births from April 2027 the package is the same for every child; the Government has said additional support for large families will be announced later.
