Static code: no expiry, no sign-up, no tracking. Made in your browser; nothing you type is uploaded.

How this works

The code is a static QR code: whatever you type (the link, the Wi-Fi details, the message) is stored in the pattern itself, so it keeps working forever and does not depend on this website. Many free generators make dynamic codes instead, which point to a short link on their server and can stop working if the account lapses.

Encoding follows the QR Code standard (ISO/IEC 18004) using Project Nayuki's open-source encoder, run entirely in your browser. Text is stored as UTF-8, so Chinese, Tamil and emoji work. The smallest code size that fits is chosen automatically, and the error correction level is raised for free when it fits in the same size.

Wi-Fi codes use the WIFI:T:WPA;S:name;P:password;; format that iPhone and Android cameras read natively; special characters in the name or password are escaped. WhatsApp codes open a chat through WhatsApp's own wa.me link, and 8-digit numbers are treated as Singapore (+65).

For print, download the SVG (it stays sharp at any size) or a 2,048 px PNG, keep the white quiet zone around the code, use dark colours on a light background, and test-scan the printed proof before a run.

FAQs

Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static codes, so the link or details are stored in the pattern itself and work for as long as the destination exists. There is no account, subscription or redirect that could lapse.

How big should a printed QR code be?

A common rule of thumb is a code at least 2 cm wide, and about a tenth of the scanning distance: a code read from 1 metre away should be around 10 cm wide. Longer links make denser codes, so shorten the link if the code must be small.

Can I make a QR code for my Wi-Fi?

Yes. Choose Wi-Fi, enter the network name and password, and guests can join by pointing their phone camera at it. The password stays in your browser while you make the code, but anyone who scans the printed code can read it.

Can I change where the QR code points after printing?

Not with a static code: the destination is baked into the pattern. If you need to change it later, point the code at a page you control (your own website or a link page) and update that page instead.

Is this QR code generator really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, watermark, scan limit or expiry, and PNG and SVG downloads are free. The code is made on your device and nothing you type is uploaded.
