Thank you for your business.
Your details stay in this browser. In the print dialog, choose Save as PDF.
Not GST-registered? Do not charge GST or show a GST number. Turn on GST only once IRAS has registered you.
How this works
Fill in your business, customer and line items, and the invoice updates as you type. Print it or choose Save as PDF in the print dialog: only the invoice is printed, on A4. Your details are kept in this browser's storage so the next invoice is quicker, and nothing is sent to Lookup.
If you are GST-registered, switch on GST. The invoice is titled "Tax Invoice" and adds GST at the 9% standard rate (in force since 1 January 2024) on the total before GST. IRAS requires a tax invoice to show: the words "Tax Invoice", your name and address, your GST registration number, the invoice date and number, the customer's name and address, a description of the goods or services, the GST rate, and the totals excluding GST, the GST, and including GST.
A tax invoice is generally issued within 30 days of the time of supply. Where the total including GST is S$1,000 or less, IRAS allows a simplified tax invoice. Businesses that are not GST-registered must not charge GST, so leave GST off: the document is then a plain invoice.
FAQs
What must a tax invoice include in Singapore?
IRAS requires 12 details: the words "Tax Invoice", supplier name and address, GST registration number, invoice date, invoice number, customer name and address, description of goods or services, GST rate, total excluding GST, total GST, and total including GST.
How much GST do I add to an invoice?
GST-registered businesses add 9% on the value of standard-rated supplies. A S$1,500 invoice before GST carries S$135 GST, for a total of S$1,635.
Can I issue an invoice if I am not GST-registered?
Yes. You can issue an ordinary invoice for your sales, but you must not charge GST, show a GST registration number or call it a tax invoice.
When do I have to issue a tax invoice?
In general, within 30 days of the time of supply. You do not need to issue a tax invoice to a customer who is not GST-registered; a receipt is enough.
Does an invoice need a UEN in Singapore?
IRAS's tax invoice list does not require a UEN, but most businesses show it, and for GST-registered companies the GST registration number is usually the UEN.
