How this works

MediShield Life premiums depend only on your age next birthday. We use the Ministry of Health's premium table for policies starting or renewing on or after 1 April 2025, which runs from S$200 a year (age next birthday 1 to 20) to S$2,826 (above 90), including 9% GST. The 2025 revision is phased in evenly to March 2028 with the total rise capped at 35%, so renewal notices during the phase-in can differ slightly.

Means-tested premium subsidies for Singapore citizens range from 15% to 60%, depending on age and household monthly income per person (S$1,500 or less, S$1,501 to S$2,600, or S$2,601 to S$3,600). They apply to homes with an annual value of S$31,000 or less, 10 percentage points lower between S$21,001 and S$31,000, and not to households with more than one property. PRs get half. Merdeka Generation seniors get an extra 5% (age next birthday 60 to 75) or 10% (76 and above).

MediSave can pay MediShield Life and CareShield Life premiums in full. CareShield Life premiums are personal to your birth year, gender and when you joined (paid each year until age 67), so enter the figure from your notice; subsidies of 30%, 25% or 20% apply for citizens in the same income bands. For an Integrated Shield Plan, MediSave pays the private part only up to S$300 a year (age next birthday 40 and below), S$600 (41 to 70) or S$900 (71 and above); the rest is cash.
