HDB season parking (monthly)

Tier 1 is a resident household's first car, where the owner or tenant lives in the precinct the car park serves. Tier 2 is a second car or any non-resident. Most car parks are 'rest of island'.

Short-term parking at 60 cents per half-hour costs S$9.60 for an 8-hour day, so a tier 1 season ticket (S$80 surface, S$110 sheltered) pays off after about 9 to 12 such days a month. Commercial vehicle rates apply to vans and lorries over 2,000 kg unladen.

How this works

HDB charges cars 60 cents per half-hour outside the Central Area. At the 16 Central Area car parks (such as Waterloo Centre, Tekka Centre and The Pinnacle@Duxton) it is S$1.20 per half-hour from 7am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday, and 60 cents at other times. Electronic car parks bill per minute, so 20 minutes costs 40 cents, and you pay nothing if you leave within the 15-minute grace period.

Caps: day parking (7am to 10.30pm) is capped at S$12 a day, or S$20 in the Central Area. At car parks with the Night Parking Scheme, 10.30pm to 7am is capped at S$5 and a whole 7am-to-7am day at S$12 (S$20 Central Area). The caps do not apply at the popular car parks with peak-hour charges (80 cents, or S$1.40 in the Central Area, per half-hour during their peak periods).

Under the Free Parking Scheme, most HDB car parks are free from 7am to 10.30pm on Sundays and public holidays (look for the orange sign plate); night parking is still charged. Motorcycles pay 65 cents per lot for the day (7am to 10.30pm) and 65 cents for the night. Heavy vehicles pay S$1.20 per half-hour at all times.

Season parking is a monthly charge set by car park type. Tier 1 applies to a resident household's first car: S$80 for surface and S$110 for sheltered car parks. Tier 2 (second cars and non-residents) is S$90 to S$190 depending on the zone. Rates as published by HDB, pages updated July 2026.

FAQs

How much is HDB parking per hour?

S$1.20 an hour (60 cents per half-hour) at most HDB car parks, charged per minute. In the Central Area it is S$2.40 an hour from 7am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday, and S$1.20 at other times. Day parking is capped at S$12 (S$20 in the Central Area).

What is the HDB night parking cap?

S$5 per night for parking between 10.30pm and 7am at car parks with the Night Parking Scheme. Parking from midnight to 6am costs S$5 instead of S$7.20. A full 7am-to-7am day is capped at S$12, or S$20 in the Central Area.

Is HDB parking free on Sundays?

Yes, at most HDB car parks: the Free Parking Scheme makes parking free from 7am to 10.30pm on Sundays and public holidays. Look for the orange sign plate at the entrance. Night parking after 10.30pm is still charged, and season-holder lots are excluded.

How much is HDB season parking?

A resident's first car (tier 1) pays S$80 a month at a surface car park or S$110 at a multi-storey or other sheltered car park. Second cars and non-residents (tier 2) pay S$90 or S$120 in most estates, and up to S$165 or S$190 in restricted zones and car-lite precincts. Motorcycles pay S$15 or S$17.

Is there a grace period at HDB car parks?

Yes. Electronic HDB car parks give a 15-minute grace period: leave within 15 minutes of entering and you are not charged. Stay 20 minutes and you pay for all 20 minutes, which is 40 cents outside the Central Area.
