How to Get to Pulau Ubin by Bus, MRT and Bumboat
How to reach Pulau Ubin: buses 2, 29, 59 and 109 to Changi Village, the bumboat from Changi Point Ferry Terminal, fares, hours and getting back.

Pulau Ubin is reached only by bumboat from Changi Point Ferry Terminal (51 Lorong Bekukong), next to Changi Village. So the trip has two parts: getting to Changi Village by bus, then crossing by boat. This guide follows NParks' visitor information and LTA bus data. Bus routes and boat arrangements change, so check before you travel.
Getting to Changi Village
Changi Village has no MRT station. Take the MRT to one of the stations below, then a bus to Changi Village Ter (99009). The ferry terminal is a short walk from the bus terminal.
- Service 2 from Tanah Merah (EW4) on the East-West Line
- Service 29 from Tampines (EW2/DT32) at Tampines Interchange, also stopping at Tampines East station
- Service 59 from Tampines East (DT33) on the Downtown Line, also from Bishan Interchange
- Service 109 from Serangoon Interchange, next to Serangoon (NE12/CC13)
The bumboat crossing
NParks says the crossing takes about 10 minutes and costs S$4 per person each way, plus S$2 if you bring a bicycle. Boats run from as early as 6am to 7pm.
There is no timetable. Boats leave once there are about 9 to 12 passengers. The bumboats are run by private operators, not NParks, and they may leave with fewer passengers or outside these hours for a higher fare per person. NParks advises confirming the fare before you board.
Getting back
Return boats leave from the Pulau Ubin main jetty on the same terms. If you plan to leave the island after 6pm, NParks advises arranging it with the boat operators in advance. If no bumboat is waiting at the jetty, NParks lists its helpline, 1800-471 7300, for help.
Getting around the island
Most visitors cycle or walk. Bicycle rental shops sit near the main jetty, and you can bring your own bike on the boat for the extra fare. Popular stops include Chek Jawa Wetlands and the island's kampong houses. Carry water and cash, since facilities on the island are limited.
