The Gardens By The Bay light show, officially called Garden Rhapsody, is a free light and sound show at the Supertree Grove in Marina Bay. It is one of the easiest evening activities in Singapore to fit into a visit. This guide covers when it runs, where to watch and how to get a good spot.

The Supertrees

The show is built around the Supertrees, vertical gardens that range from 25 to 50 metres tall. They are covered in plants and lit in coordinated colours and patterns to a soundtrack, so the whole grove changes with the music.

Show Times and Tips for Viewing

According to Gardens by the Bay, Garden Rhapsody runs daily at 7.45 pm and 8.45 pm at the Supertree Grove. The soundtrack changes through the year, and the gardens run themed editions on selected dates. In 2026, for example, Spring Blossoms replaced the regular show from 15 to 24 February, and a Star Wars edition was scheduled for 2 to 4 May. A Christmas special is listed for 29 November 2026 to 1 January 2027, with dates subject to change. Check the Calendar of Events on the Gardens by the Bay website before you go.

Arrive at least 15 minutes early to get a comfortable spot, since the grove fills up on weekends, school holidays and during festive events.

The Best Time to Visit

The show runs every evening, so there is no off season. Pick a night when the sky is clear, and check the forecast before you head out. Rain can make the grove less pleasant to stand in, and it is worth looking at the gardens' website for any notices on weather closures. Weeknights are usually less crowded than weekends.

Admission and Location

Garden Rhapsody is free, and no ticket is needed to watch from the Supertree Grove. Gardens by the Bay notes that admission charges to the Supertree Grove may apply for ticketed events such as Christmas Wonderland. Check the official calendar if you are visiting during a festive period. You can also visit MBS for some food afterwards.

Additional Tips for a Memorable Experience

  1. Bring insect repellent: The Supertrees are surrounded by lush gardens, so mosquitoes are possible.
  2. Bring a blanket or mat: If you prefer sitting on the ground to standing, a mat is more comfortable. Lying back also gives the best view of the canopy.
  3. Capture the moment: Bring a camera or smartphone. Check the Gardens by the Bay site for any restrictions on equipment such as tripods.
  4. Stay hydrated: Singapore is humid, so carry a water bottle.
  5. Explore the Gardens after the show: Once the show ends, you can walk through the rest of Gardens by the Bay. Ticketed attractions in the gardens have their own opening hours and may close for maintenance, so check them before you plan around them.

Planning Your Visit

Confirm the show times and any special editions on the official Gardens by the Bay website, since schedules and themed editions change from year to year.
