Singapore is small and dense, so a "retreat" here usually means a one-day or weekend programme, a hotel wellness stay or a studio workshop rather than a week in the countryside. Longer, immersive retreats are normally held in nearby countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia or Thailand.
Retreat dates, prices and operators change often. This page does not list specific events or prices; confirm everything with the organiser before you book.
Retreats and workshops run by local studios
Some yoga schools in Singapore run workshops and retreats alongside regular classes. For example, Nithya Priyan School of Yoga, a Yoga Alliance registered school with a base in Chinatown, describes classes, workshops and retreats on its own website. Ask any studio you like whether it has upcoming retreat dates, since many only schedule them a few times a year.
Hotel and resort wellness stays
A few hotels offer wellness packages that combine spa treatments with yoga or mat pilates. Capella Singapore on Sentosa, for example, promotes a wellness getaway with yoga or mat pilates, sound bath sessions and massages on its own site. Programmes differ by season, so check the hotel's current offer and any inclusions before booking.
One-off events and ticketed retreats
Event platforms such as Eventbrite list yoga and wellness events in Singapore, and retreat marketplaces such as BookRetreats list programmes in Singapore and across the region. These are directories of third-party organisers, not endorsements, so check the organiser's credentials and reviews.
Retreats in nearby countries
If you want several days away, retreats in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand are a short flight or drive from Singapore. Check visa requirements and travel advisories for the country you choose.
What to ask before you book
- Who leads the sessions, and what training do they have (for example, Yoga Alliance registered teachers)?
- What exactly is included: accommodation, meals, sessions, equipment?
- What is the cancellation and refund policy?
- What level is the programme aimed at? Many retreats mix beginners and experienced students; ask if a beginner can join.
- If the retreat includes breathwork or ice baths, ask about medical suitability. People with heart conditions, high blood pressure or who are pregnant should speak to a doctor first.
