Needing a pen, notebook or poster board late in the evening is a familiar problem, and Singapore does not have many true late-night stationery specialists. Most dedicated stationery shops close by early evening, and mall-based chains usually close around 10pm. This guide sets out what we could confirm, and how to find something open when you need it.
An earlier version of this article listed 15 shops with vague claims about late hours. We could not confirm that most of them open late, and at least two closed branches had been included, so we removed the unverifiable entries. Opening hours change, so always check before you travel.
24-hour general stores
These are not stationery specialists, but they are the likeliest places to find basic supplies after midnight.
Mustafa Centre (Little India)
Mustafa Centre is a large department store in Little India that has operated around the clock since 2003. According to Wikipedia, it cut its hours after the pandemic and resumed 24-hour operation on 6 September 2024. It sells a wide range of goods, so it is worth checking whether it stocks the specific stationery item you need, and confirming current hours with the store before you go.
Don Don Donki, Orchard Central
Published guides list the Orchard Central outlet as the only 24-hour Don Don Donki in Singapore. We did not find confirmation of its stationery range or of its current 2026 hours, so call or check the Don Don Donki website first.
Mall stationery stores that close around 10pm
Mall stores are the practical option on a weekday evening. Examples with published hours:
- Smiggle: Time Out lists Plaza Singapura as open 10am to 10pm. Listing hours at other outlets, such as Northpoint City, are slightly shorter on weekdays.
- The Paper Stone: Time Out lists the Hougang Mall store as open 10am to 10pm.
Many other chains, including bookstores, lifestyle stores and craft shops, trade in malls with similar hours, but hours differ by outlet. Check the specific branch on the retailer's website or by phone.
Tips for a late-night stationery run
- Phone ahead. Opening hours differ by branch and day, and public holidays often change them.
- Check the closing time of the mall, not just the shop. Some shops close earlier than the mall around them.
- Know what you need. General stores carry basics such as pens, paper, tape and scissors, but may not carry specialist art or craft supplies.
- Consider ordering ahead. If you can wait, online stationery and art suppliers deliver in Singapore, but delivery times vary.
- For printing and binding, check whether a print shop near you opens late or offers self-service. Many are closed by early evening.
Shops from earlier versions of this article
We removed several entries because we could not confirm their late-night hours or current status. For example, Time Out lists the Cat Socrates branch at Bras Basah Complex as closed, and a listing for Typo at AMK Hub is marked permanently closed. If you rely on any specific shop, check its current status first.
