Prawning in Singapore is charged by the hour per rod, with cheaper rates per hour for longer sessions and multi-hour cards for regulars. The hourly fee usually includes a house rod and bait. Cooking your catch, drinks and food are extra at most ponds.
We could not find a current, dated price list published by each operator in October 2026, so the rates below come from the most recent third-party listings we could find, with the source and date for each. Treat them as a guide and check with the pond before you go.

Fish @ Woodleigh and Fish @ Pasir Ris also list a student and NSF rate of $14 an hour for freshwater prawning and $16 an hour for tiger prawning (Baktao Fishing Blog). Little Day Out's guide to Fish @ Woodleigh gives the same starting prices: from $22 per rod for 1 hour and $44 for 3 hours, with student prices from $14 an hour.
Sources disagree on some ponds. For Hai Bin, for example, other listings give $18 or $24 an hour. When the figures differ, the pond's own counter price is the one that counts.
Venue changes since 2024
- Hai Bin Prawning is at Punggol East Container Park. Time Out reported on 2 September 2026 that the container park's land tenancy runs until 31 December 2026 and that Hai Bin is among the tenants affected by the site's closure. Check that it is still open before you go.
- Prawning at ORTO moved from Yishun to West Coast after ORTO Yishun closed in 2023 for housing redevelopment.
- Fish @ Bugis+ moved to Woodleigh and now operates as Fish @ Woodleigh, according to Little Day Out.
- The pond at Aranda Country Club (60 Pasir Ris Drive 3) appears in recent listings under two names, Bait N Catch and PrawnzManiac. We could not confirm the current operator or rates, so it is not in the table.
The 2024 version of this article quoted 2024 rates for Hai Bin, Riviera and ATC Fishing Village. We have replaced them with the newer published figures above.
What drives the cost
- Session length. Rates per hour fall for 2-hour and 3-hour sessions, and multi-hour cards cost less per hour again if you go regularly.
- Type of prawn. Seawater tiger prawn ponds cost more than freshwater ponds where both are offered.
- Student and NSF rates. Some ponds offer lower hourly rates with valid ID.
- Extras. Grilling your catch, drinks and food are usually charged separately.
Tips to keep costs down
- Buy a multi-hour card if you plan to go more than once, and check how long it stays valid.
- Go with a group and share the cost of cooking.
- Visit on weekday evenings, when ponds are quieter.
- Use the house rod and bait included in the fee rather than buying your own gear for a first visit.
