## How this works
A taxi meter fare starts with the flag-down, which covers the first 1 km: S$4.40 to S$5.20 for standard taxis and S$5.00 to S$5.50 for premium ones, depending on the operator and model (for example S$4.60 for a CDG, Strides, Trans-cab or Prime Toyota Prius). After that the meter adds one unit fare every 400 m up to 10 km, every 350 m beyond 10 km, and every 45 seconds the taxi is waiting or crawling.

LTA sets the standard unit fare at 26 cents (37 to 38 cents for premium taxis). The operators have added a temporary 1 cent until 30 November 2026, so a standard unit is 27 cents for now; the tool switches this off after that date.

Surcharges on top of the meter: 25% in peak periods (Monday to Friday 6am to 9.29am except public holidays, every day 5pm to 11.59pm, and weekends and public holidays 10am to 1.59pm) and 50% late at night (midnight to 5.59am). Flat location surcharges apply to trips starting in the City Area (S$3, 5pm to midnight), at Changi Airport (S$8 from 5pm to midnight, S$6 otherwise) and at places like Gardens by the Bay and Resorts World Sentosa (S$3). App bookings add a booking fee (S$2.30 off-peak at most operators) and ERP is passed on as charged.

This is an estimate: the real meter counts the actual route and traffic. Waiting time is an editable assumption, and app fixed fares are priced differently.
