## How this works
Take-home pay is gross salary less your employee CPF contribution. From 1 January 2026, citizens and PRs from their third year pay 20% up to age 55, 18% above 55 to 60, 12.5% above 60 to 65, 7.5% above 65 to 70 and 5% above 70. Employers add 17%, 16%, 12.5%, 9% and 7.5%. CPF applies only to the first S$8,000 of monthly ordinary wages.

PRs in their first two years pay graduated rates: in year one, 5% employee and 4% employer (3.5% employer above 60); in year two, 15% employee and 9% employer up to age 55. Monthly wages of S$750 or less have lower employee rates, and S$500 or less have none.

Bonuses are additional wages. CPF applies to them up to the Additional Wage ceiling of S$102,000 less the ordinary wages that attracted CPF in the year, so a S$8,000 salary leaves S$6,000 of bonus subject to CPF.

Income tax is not withheld from pay in Singapore. We estimate it on this year's salary and bonus using current resident rates, earned income relief (S$1,000 below 55) and CPF relief only, and spread it over 12 months. These 2026 CPF rates rise again from 1 January 2027 for workers above 55 to 65.

## FAQs
### What is my take-home pay on a S$5,000 salary in Singapore?
S$4,000 a month for a citizen aged 55 or below: 20% (S$1,000) goes to your CPF. Your employer adds S$850 of CPF on top. With a one-month bonus, estimated income tax is about S$1,320 a year, so you keep roughly S$4,223 a month after setting tax aside.

### How much CPF is deducted from a S$10,000 salary?
S$1,600 a month for employees aged 55 and below, because CPF only applies to the first S$8,000 of ordinary wages in 2026 (20% of S$8,000). Take-home is S$8,400, and the employer adds S$1,360.

### How much CPF do PRs pay in their first year?
5% from the employee and 4% from the employer (3.5% above age 60) on wages above S$750, under graduated rates. In the second year it is 15% and 9% up to age 55. From the third year PRs pay the same rates as citizens.

### Is CPF deducted from my bonus?
Yes, at the same rate as your salary, up to the Additional Wage ceiling: S$102,000 less the ordinary wages that attracted CPF in the year. Someone earning S$5,000 a month has an AW ceiling of S$42,000, so a normal bonus is fully subject to CPF.
