## How this works
Holiday dates are the gazetted public holidays published by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), last updated 19 June 2026. Singapore has 11 public holidays a year. When one falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is a public holiday; when one falls on a Saturday, there is no extra public holiday.

In 2026 the in-lieu Mondays are 1 June (Vesak Day), 10 August (National Day) and 9 November (Deepavali). In 2027 the only in-lieu Monday is 8 February, because the second day of Chinese New Year falls on a Sunday. Labour Day and Christmas Day 2027 both fall on a Saturday.

The planner assumes a Monday to Friday work week. It lists every break of three days or more that contains a public holiday, keeps only the options where extra leave buys extra days, then picks the combination that gives the most days off for your leave budget. Once the page knows today's date, it only plans breaks that are still ahead.

## FAQs
### How many public holidays does Singapore have in 2026?
Singapore has 11 public holidays in 2026, plus 3 in-lieu Mondays (1 June, 10 August and 9 November) because Vesak Day, National Day and Deepavali fall on a Sunday. That gives 10 weekday days off in 2026.

### When is Chinese New Year 2027 in Singapore?
Chinese New Year 2027 falls on Saturday 6 February and Sunday 7 February, so Monday 8 February 2027 is a public holiday in lieu, giving a three-day weekend from 6 to 8 February.

### How many long weekends are there in 2026?
There are six three-day weekends in 2026 that need no leave: Good Friday (3 to 5 April), Labour Day (1 to 3 May), Vesak Day (30 May to 1 June), National Day (8 to 10 August), Deepavali (7 to 9 November) and Christmas (25 to 27 December).

### What is the most efficient way to use leave in 2026?
Taking 4 days of leave from 28 to 31 December 2026 joins Christmas Day (Friday) and New Year's Day 2027 (Friday) into 10 days off, from 25 December 2026 to 3 January 2027. Earlier in 2026, 3 days of leave around Chinese New Year gave 9 days off.

### What happens if a public holiday falls on a Saturday?
No extra public holiday is declared, so Hari Raya Puasa 2026 (Saturday 21 March) and Labour Day and Christmas Day 2027 do not create a Monday off. Employees covered by the Employment Act whose rest day or non-working day it is must get another day off or an extra day's pay instead.
