## How this works
Value in year B = amount × CPI in year B ÷ CPI in year A, using Singapore's all-items Consumer Price Index from the Department of Statistics (SingStat), base year 2024 = 100. Each year's index is the average of its 12 monthly readings, which matches SingStat's published annual figures (97.666 for 2023, 100 for 2024, 100.9 for 2025).

The average yearly inflation rate shown is the compound rate between the two years: (CPI B ÷ CPI A)^(1 ÷ years) − 1. Between 2000 and 2025 prices rose 57.8% in total, or 1.84% a year on average.

The data runs from 1961 to the latest month SingStat has published (August 2026 at the last update, CPI 103.3). The current year is shown as a year-to-date average and will change as new months are added.

The CPI measures the price of the average household's basket of goods and services. It is not a measure of property prices, COE premiums or any one household's costs, which can rise much faster or slower.
