## How this works
Readings come live from the National Environment Agency (NEA) through data.gov.sg. NEA measures the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) at about 30 stations, many at stadiums, parks and other busy outdoor spots, and reports a 15-minute average every 15 minutes. Each reading on this page shows the time it is for, and the chart shows the station's readings over the last few hours.

WBGT is not the air temperature. It combines air temperature, humidity, wind and the sun's radiant heat: NEA calculates it as 0.7 × natural wet-bulb temperature + 0.2 × black globe temperature + 0.1 × air temperature. It can be well below the air temperature in the shade and higher in humid, sunny conditions.

NEA's heat stress levels are Low (WBGT below 31°C), Moderate (31°C to below 33°C) and High (33°C and above). The advice shown is NEA's heat stress advisory for the general population planning prolonged outdoor activities (June 2026). Moderate and High usually occur in the late morning and afternoon, and High is more frequent in April and May.

Search a postal code or place to see the nearest station. Outdoor workers should follow the Ministry of Manpower's guidelines, and students their school's.

## FAQs
### What WBGT is high heat stress in Singapore?
A WBGT of 33°C or above is High heat stress. NEA advises minimising outdoor activities, staying under shade, taking more frequent or longer breaks, drinking more fluids and cooling actively during breaks.

### What is the difference between WBGT and temperature?
Air temperature is measured in the shade. WBGT also accounts for humidity, wind and sunlight, so at the same 32°C air temperature, NEA's example shows a WBGT of 30.6°C on a cloudy midday and 32.3°C under hot midday sun.

### Is it safe to exercise outdoors at moderate heat stress?
At Moderate heat stress (WBGT 31°C to below 33°C), NEA advises reducing outdoor activities, taking regular breaks indoors or under shade, drinking more fluids and watching for signs of heat-related illness.

### How often is the WBGT updated?
NEA reports WBGT as a 15-minute average, updated every 15 minutes. This page checks for new readings every 5 minutes.
