## How this works
Each 4D draw picks 23 numbers from 0000 to 9999: 1 First, 1 Second and 1 Third Prize, 10 Starter and 10 Consolation Prizes. A Big bet wins on any of the 23; a Small bet wins only on First, Second or Third, with bigger prizes. Rates are from the 4D Game Rules approved by the Gambling Regulatory Authority, in force from 30 December 2024.

Per S$1 stake, Big pays S$2,000 (First), S$1,000 (Second), S$490 (Third), S$250 (Starter) and S$60 (Consolation). Small pays S$3,000, S$2,000 and S$800 for First to Third. Stakes are in whole dollars.

A System bet covers every ordering of your number at your full stake each, so it costs the number of permutations times the stake (System 24 for 1234 is S$24 per S$1). iBet covers the same orderings for one stake, and the prize is cut to match: about S$83 instead of S$2,000 for First Prize on a 24-permutation number. A 4D Roll bets 10 numbers (one digit runs 0 to 9) at S$10 per S$1.

Permutations: 4 different digits give 24, two the same give 12, two pairs give 6, three the same give 4. Numbers like 8888 have only one, so they can only be bought as Ordinary or Roll. If gambling is a problem for you or someone you know, the National Problem Gambling Helpline is 1800-6-668-668.

## FAQs
### How much do I win for 4D First Prize with S$1 Big?
S$2,000. A S$1 Small bet pays S$3,000 for First Prize, so S$1 Big plus S$1 Small on the same number pays S$5,000 if it comes up First.

### How many permutations does a 4D number have?
24 if all four digits differ (1234), 12 if two digits are the same (1123), 6 if there are two pairs (1122) and 4 if three digits are the same (1112). A number like 7777 has 1, so System and iBet bets are not available for it.

### What is the difference between iBet and System in 4D?
A System bet stakes your full amount on every permutation, so System 24 at S$1 costs S$24 and pays S$2,000 for a First Prize. An iBet 24 at S$1 costs S$1 and pays S$83 for First Prize, because the stake is spread across the 24 orderings.

### What are the odds of winning 4D?
About 1 in 435 per draw for one number on a Big bet, since 23 numbers are drawn, and about 1 in 3,334 on a Small bet. The chance of a given number winning First Prize is 1 in 10,000. On average a Big bet pays back about 66 cents per S$1 and a Small bet 58 cents.

### How much does a 4D Roll cost?
S$10 per S$1 stake, because the rolling digit covers 10 numbers (for example 58X2 covers 5802 to 5892). Each of those numbers pays the normal Big or Small prize if it wins.
