# How to Get to MacRitchie Reservoir by MRT, Bus and Car

> How to reach MacRitchie Reservoir Park: Caldecott MRT on the Circle and Thomson-East Coast lines, buses to the MacRitchie Reservoir stops, and parking.

MacRitchie Reservoir Park is the main way into the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, with the trails, boardwalks and the TreeTop Walk. The park entrance is off Lornie Road and Thomson Road, and the closest bus stops are a short walk away. This guide uses NParks' visitor information and LTA bus data. Bus routes change, so check LTA or a live transport app before you travel.

## By MRT

NParks lists three stations near the reserve: **Caldecott**, **Marymount** and **Upper Thomson**.

- **Caldecott (CC17/TE9)** is the closest, on both the Circle Line and the Thomson-East Coast Line. It is roughly 700 to 900 metres from the park, depending on the exit, so most people walk.
- **Upper Thomson (TE8)** on the Thomson-East Coast Line is about 1.5 km away. Buses from its Upper Thomson Road stops run to the park (see below).
- **Marymount (CC16)** on the Circle Line is about 1.1 km away. Services 74 and 852 run from Marymount station to the park.

## By bus

Alight at the **MacRitchie Reservoir** stops on Thomson Road: **MacRitchie Resvr (51071)** and **Opp MacRitchie Resvr (51079)**, which NParks lists as the nearest stops to the park.

According to LTA bus route data, the services that call at these stops include:

- **52**, from Bishan Interchange and Upper Thomson station
- **157**, from Toa Payoh Interchange
- **130 and 166**, from Ang Mo Kio Interchange
- **165, 167, 855 and 980**, which also stop at Upper Thomson station
- **74, 93, 132, 156 and 852**

Some of these stop only on one side of the road (51071 is served by more routes than 51079), so confirm the stop and direction on LTA, SBS Transit or SMRT before you go.

## By car, taxi or private hire

NParks says the nearest parking for the reserve is at MacRitchie Reservoir Park itself and at Windsor Nature Park, and asks visitors to use the designated car parks rather than park in nearby estates. Parking fees may apply. Taxis and private hire cars can drop you at the park entrance.

## Before you go

- NParks lists the nature reserve as open from **7am to 7pm**, with different hours for the TreeTop Walk.
- As of October 2026, NParks says a section of **Golf Link** is closed for maintenance from 25 September 2026, and asks walkers heading to MacRitchie Reservoir Park or the TreeTop Walk to use the **MacRitchie Nature Trail** instead.
- If you are eating before or after a walk, the restaurants and prata shops of [Upper Thomson](/food/upper-thomson) are a short bus ride north.

*Transport services and park notices change. Check NParks, LTA or the bus operators for the latest details.*
