Bicycle shops in Singapore sell and service bikes, and many also handle power-assisted bicycles (PABs) and e-scooters. Only buy LTA-approved PABs with the orange seal and registered e-scooters certified to the UL2272 fire-safety standard. E-scooters are banned from footpaths, and riders of both need to pass LTA's theory test.

## How to choose

### Can I ride an e-scooter on the footpath in Singapore?
No. E-scooters have been banned from footpaths since November 2019. They may only be used on cycling paths and park connectors, at no more than 25 km/h, and the device must be registered, UL2272-certified and within LTA's weight and width limits. Riders must also pass LTA's online theory test.

### What are the rules for e-bikes in Singapore?
