# Balloons & Party Decor in Singapore

Balloon decorators in Singapore need no licence. If you plan a balloon release, though, CAAS bans releasing free-flying helium balloons during military airbase hours (weekdays 7am–7pm, Saturdays 7am–1pm). Balloons or clusters must not exceed 2m, and permit applications go through SkySAFE at least 7 working days ahead. Ask decorators to include delivery, set-up and teardown in the quote.

## Prices in Singapore
Published prices from Singapore balloon decorators. Size, helium versus air-filled balloons, custom printing and whether set-up and teardown are included drive most of the difference.

| Service | Typical price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Helium balloon package (about 50 balloons) | S$280–S$450 per package | Delivery included |
| Balloon arch or garland set-up | S$308–S$598 per set-up | Starting prices; bigger or custom arches cost more |
| Themed backdrop with balloon garland | S$380–S$538 per set-up | Usually includes set-up and teardown |
| Customised birthday decor package | S$245–S$880 per package | Foil letters and numbers, arch, cake stands at the top end |
| Corporate installation or balloon sculpture | S$800–S$2,000 per event | Large custom jobs can exceed $2,000 |

## How to choose
- Get an itemised quote covering balloon count, helium versus air-filled, size of the arch or garland, and whether delivery, set-up and teardown are included. Air-filled garlands are cheaper and last longer than helium.
- Confirm venue rules first. Many hotels, malls and condo function rooms restrict helium balloons, confetti balloons or wall attachments, and some charge set-up fees.
- For outdoor events, plan for heat and sun, which shorten balloon life. Ask the decorator how close to the event they will install.
- If you want a balloon release, check the CAAS rules and apply via SkySAFE. A release during airbase operating hours is prohibited.

## FAQs
### Is it legal to release helium balloons in Singapore?
Only with restrictions. CAAS prohibits releasing free-flying helium balloons during military airbase operating hours (Monday–Friday 7am–7pm, Saturday 7am–1pm). Balloons or clusters must not exceed 2m in any dimension, and a permit may be required. Apply via SkySAFE at least 7 working days before the activity.

### What should a balloon decoration quote include?
A good quote lists the number and size of balloons, helium or air fill, the backdrop or arch dimensions, any foil numbers or customised printing, and whether delivery, set-up and teardown are included. Ask about extra charges for early-morning installs, late teardown or venues outside central areas.

### Do I need permission to put up balloons at a venue?
Check with the venue. Hotels, malls and condo management often have their own rules on helium, attachments to walls and set-up times, and may require the decorator's details in advance. Public releases of free-flying balloons are separately regulated by CAAS.
